Sun spots to cause cable outages during next month

Television reception will sporadically and temporarily be affected next month by sun spots, Cable ONE representatives said.
“We are in a sun outage period during which degradation of satellite signals will occur,” said Cable ONE technical operations manager John Lanier.
Beginning Friday and continuing through Oct. 13 satellite services will experience repeated interruptions between the hours of 12:30 p.m. and 4:20 p.m.
Experts said the outages will average around 12 minutes and will affect Cable ONE customers as well as those residents with home satellite.
