DISH Network subscribers saw this error message on many popular channels early Tuesday morning.
Late night TV watchers found many of their favorite shows abruptly disappeared early Tuesday morning when DISH Network apparently experienced a major disruption of its satellite service.
Channels being relayed on the DISH satellite located in the sky at 119 degrees West were unavailable starting at 2:10 a.m. CDT. The list included basic favorites like CNN, AMC and Disney.
"Ugh dish network is having some serious problems right now," said bamitashley92 on her Twitter feed at 3 a.m., a sentiment that was echoed by many other users (most of them a bit more profanely, however).
DISH Network channels carried on its other geostationary satellites — including WFAA — were not affected by the outage.
The problem appeared to have been rectified shortly before 4 a.m. CDT. No statement from the company was available.
The DISH 119 satellite is the company's newest operational orbital platform, launched in March and replacing another satellite that had been in service since 2002.
DISH launched another satellite into orbit on July 10. It is scheduled to begin service this fall.
